Pastor Tate and the Referee of the 4th game
My Personal Spiritual Journalistic NBA
Review!
Well I have watched the final games of the NBA closely, yesterday and I
was feeling happy and glad to have been given the opportunity to tell the “referees”
that were officiating, and presiding over the games, that their lack of
penalizing Oakland warriors for their “flagrant” fouling against Cleveland
Cavaliers troubled me. I was not all
smiles; I did take a stand and told these men exactly how I felt.
Pastor Tate and the Referees
I was also very
impressed, last night, with Oakland warrior’s physical ability on the
basketball court. However, I was not impressed with their moral and ethical
actions and reactions during the game. I
personally felt that Oakland warrior’s flagrant fouls, cheating and rudeness
took away the sweetness of their victory in yesterday's defeat of the Cleveland
Cavaliers.
Oakland proved, without any doubt to be an
excellent basketball team. However, the cheating and reprehensible fouling obstructed
and took attention away from their superior basketball skills. In addition,
when we look back on this, in time, historians will say, “Oakland may have won
the finales, but the flagrant manner in which Oakland violated the rules of
basketball again took away the sweetness out of their victory.”
I also felt
that Lebron's was egotistical, self-centered beliefs that he really is a king,
a competitor who holds a “preeminent” position in the basketball world help
contribute to the failure of the Cavaliers as a whole. In addition, him exposing himself to the whole
world knowing that cameras are going to be everywhere once you leave the locker
room. Lebron should let others pat him on the back and he should not pat
his own back or blow his own horn.
Finally, yet importantly one thing I found strange was there were some people that tried to contribute Oakland’s victory as a blessing coming from God through Christ Jesus. However, I did not accept their victoryas a gift from God. Especially when the actions of a certain group or individual are flagrantly violent as Oakland warrior’s behavior was on the court.
As I said when the referees of the final games
came into my hospice room, I warned them that I had been closely watching the
games. I felt that Oakland warriors had
became extremely violent on the court and that I did not appreciate our boys
being injured the way they were hurt they were just to play basketball. Oakland
players were seen on video sticking out their legs deliberately trying to trip
over our players. In one instance,
Lebron tried to go up to put the ball in the basket and an Oakland player was
grabbing his jersey from around the back of his neck and was able to stopped
Lebron from making the basket. To make
matters worse a foul was not called by any of the referees yet the video picked
it up.
Then another thing I did not like about the Oakland warriors after they won,
yes, they talked about prayer and yes they talked about God but they lost me
when they kiss the trophy. We are not supposed to bow before nothing especially
any type of graven images as believers in Christ Jesus.
However, Cleveland was no better, after
they started leading in the series, in the first 2 games, some people in the
media, in Cleveland, were going to psychics over here asking for prediction on
who was going to win the series. I knew
then that Cleveland was going to lose because God hates His people going to
psychics worse then He hates you bowing down to a statue. Therefore, I would say
that the only thing we did was watch two dens of demons play basketball, and
the den in Oakland won. However, spiritually I did not see anybody serving God,
but I did see a whole lot of people serving self.
