I know it has been a while since I have place a teaching up of one of Mother Wilson’s teachings from her book called, Hidden Under The “Shadow”

I have deliberately left any and all errors, because I wanted the book to be exactly the way she had written it when she was living.

One of the things that Mother Wilson would always quote to us, when she would be preaching, would be “If it had not been for the Lord on our side.” She would always say that. No matter what the problem was that you had, or no matter what the complaint was about concerning another person, Mother Wilson would say, “If it had not been for the Lord on our side. As you read chapter six you will notice that she starts out that way, “If it had not been for the Lord on our side.”

Mother Wilson would always sit on the right side of the church behind the old piano playing and preaching. At that time, she was a very heavy set light skin black woman and Bishop Wilson, dark skinned, small in comparison to Mother Wilson, would be on the left side of the pulpit with his head down, looking intensely at his notes on what he was going to say before he would get in the pulpit. She was bigger then Bishop Wilson, before he die, but that did not matter to him. Bishop Wilson die before Mother Wilson and she would try, alone in her last years, trying to run the church still believing God that one day their ministry would reach around the world to others. She was right it is reaching around the world, I will rewrite this book; God is keep His promise to her through me.

My self I would be sitting in the back of the church, and wondering when is God going to and how is God going to do this. Because my eyes saw nothing but a few people, who were there in this little store front and Bishop and Mother living on top of the church.

I remember one very cold winter year, the furnaces went out in the little Store Front Church, and they had no heat in the church or in their little apartment above the church; so I gave them the money to get it fix. They were so happy to have their heat on again. I thank this is why I have it so financially easy to this very day, because I help them in their old age and now God is helping me in mine.

But as a young woman evangelist, I could not see how this ministry would ever be elevated to where Mother said it would be at. Guess what God is doing it through me, the doubting Thomas of the group.

So here is a portion of Mother’s book Hidden Under The “Shadow”
Chapter 6
Pastor Debra Tate!

OUR HELP IS IN THE NAME OF THE LORDIf it had not been the Lord, who was on our side, now may Israel say: Then our enemies would have swallowed us up quick. When their wrath was kindled against us. Then the Waters, had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our souls. Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowler. The snare is broken and we are escaped. Our Help is in the name of the Lord who made Heaven and earth.”

We are on a journey in life, Sometimes we do not understand that God has ordered our life from the time of birth, or I should say, From the beginning of time, we were there. So He knows, Thank you Jesus. We have to learn how to follow Him. God has a purpose in everything He has provided to help us walk with Him. Sometimes discouragement sets in and we ask: Why has God let men rise up against us, When we were walking with Him, and doing all we know how to do? Hear me well today: God Let’s them. If it had not bee the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us and their wrath was kindled against us. They could have destroyed us, but they didn’t, and it was because the Lord was on our side. Read Psalms 102. I know I have asked: What did I do wrong, how can these things happen to men? If God is on My side, how can the wrath be kindled against Me? I feel good today, knowing that He was always there with me and still is. Everyday when the sun rises, find your place under the Shadow, and know without a doubt, that Wings are wrapped around you, protecting you gently guiding you, into regions not of your own understanding. I know we look at the mess we sometimes get ourselves into, but know that your soul is escaped like a bird from the snare that the enemy sets for both you and I.

We are not suffering, because we have sin in our lives, but because we have a made-up mind to walk with the Lord. He will destroy our enemies, He is going to make a way, out what we see as no way out. For His Glory, Our help is in the Name of the Lord. He is the same yesterday, today and forever, Heb, 13:8. Trust Him when everything is going well, trust Him when you have no friends, when you have no food, trust Him. When we cry out in distress, He covers us with His Shadow. Jesus has broken the snare; we can look back on our snare, and know that, NO one could have gotten us out of that except it be the Almighty. Our trust is in the Lord, for he has done great things, whereof we are glad.

So try not to Justify yourselves, don’t try to make people understand what is going on. God knows and He cares, He has heard our cries. There is no doubt in my mind, that the snares are broken, and we are escaped. HOLD FAST TO THAT WHICH THOU HAST, AND LET NO MAN TAKE YOUR CROWN.” Rev.3:11. The Lord Jesus is standing before you saying: I AM ALPHA AND OMEGA, THE BEGINNING AND THE ENDING, WHICH IS AND WHICH WAS, AND WHICH IS TO COME, THE ALMIGHTY.” Rev. 1:8. God is on your side, and always has been. Trust and believe and you shall receive. Even so Lord Jesus, come!
