Only God Can Give You Peace.
When we read the Old Testament,
we will learn that peace and having peace is a gift from God. Only God can give
you peace. Money cannot give you peace, fame cannot give you peace; peace has
to come from God.
Leviticus 26:6 King James Version
6. And I will give peace in the land, and he
shall lie down: and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beast out
of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
Isaiah 45:7 King James Version
7. I form light, and create
darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.
Psalms 4:8 King James Version
8. I will both lay me down in
peace, and sleep: for thou Lord only maketh me dwell in safety
1st Chronicle 12:18 King James Version
18. Then the spirit came up on
Amasa, who was chief of the captains, and he said, thou we David; and on thy side; thou son of Jesse:
peace, peace, be unto thee, and peac will e be to thine helpers; for they God
helpeth thee. Then David received them and made them captains of the land.
The point that I am trying to get
across is that God gives peace.
1st Chronicle 22:9 King James Version
9 a. Behold, a son shall be born
to thee, who shall be a man of rest;
If you will notice, rest and
peace go together. Solomon’s name meant peaceable. Therefore, when you have
rest you have peace.
9b. And I will give him rest from
all his enemies’ roundabout: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give
peace and quiet unto Israel in his days.
1st King 2: 33 King James version
33. Their blood shall therefore
return upon the head of Joab, and upon the head of his seed for ever: but upon
David; and upon his seed, and upon his house, and upon his throne, shall there
be peace forever from the Lord.
Remember, peace is given to us by
the Lord.
Isaiah 26:12 King James Version
12. Lord thou will ordain peace
for us: for thou also has wrought all our works in us.
Remember, God ordains peace for
us. Therefore, when I say God ordains peace, what I am saying is that God
orders, prescribed, decrees, appoints and commands that you and I have peace
and this is rest for us in 2015.
